My two cents:
NDP:
"Don't be idiots. If you want better health care, a better
education system, better ANYTHING, you need to pay for it. We all
do. Stop being lazy dicks and work for the betterment of the
future."
Liberal: "We're right. Believe us. 'Cause we're right. C'mooooooon."
Conservative:
"The NDP knows dick all. The Liberals fucked you over. You
don't have a choice. Plus, we'll protect your rights (except for
you homosexuals and other non-norms [because, of course, WE get to
decide what is normal], we just plain don't like you)."
Today, a majority of our nation has decided to vote Conservative.
Unfortunately, any hope of redeeming ourselves lied with the NDP.
Thusly, my two cents?
We're fucked.
And OH, don't think it won't effect you, 'cause it will.
Ignorance won't save us this time.
Edit: And you know what pisses me off MOST about this? The only reason the Conservatives are winning is because more than half of this stupid country has clung onto unproven speculation that the Liberal party is "corrupt", and that they "screwed us over" (Even though the money was SUCH an unsubstantial amount. Like honestly, it was nothing. Nothing compared to how much we'll waste over the next few years.) And keeping these "facts" in mind, what do people do? They vote for the other guys. All they know about the NDP is that they want to raise taxes, so they vote for "the other guys".
Idiots. |

Hey Nimeet, I see you have a LJ
Alright, politics talk xD.
NDP: "We're the alternative, the third choice." - Shutup Layton, if you keep saying that you're the alternative, you'll never be in the main. Learn how to get more support instead of begging (yes, literally) Liberal voters to vote with you.
Liberals: "Everyone's wrong and we're right." - Ooookay, you'll win a campaign with that one.
Conservatives: "Hi, don't let the liberals win again." - =P They've got a decent platform this time, Harper needs to work on his smile... Overall I think that they have a well rounded agenda and promises. Lets see if they follow through with it.
Green: "$4.00/L gas" - Oh...
Bloc: "Seperate please." - ...
About that little blurb that you wrote last in the edit part- Its not about the amount of money, its about the ethics and the fact that they would even do it in the first place. ... and its about the money =P
~nice site, g'day
Yeah I agree that the NDP doesn't have the best campaign strategy. And heck, I'm not really PRO NDP, but they're better than the Cons and Libs. At least we'll get somewhere with 'em.
And even though it's about the ethics, that's no reason to be all like, "Liberals stole our money! Liberals BAAAAAD! Who do I vote for now? I don't know... I've just mindlessly been voting Liberal for the past decade... Hmm... NDP? Naw, they want to raise taxes!! That means I'll lose money. Okay, Conservative it is."
Like I said, idiots.

Yeah, but you realize that the tax cycle goes from
High-Moderate-Low
and back up again, so either way =P (if you're just looking at taxes...)
hey look, a conservative minority =P
Yeah man, THAT's the problem, people are only looking at the taxes.
Also, there's a difference between High, and High-Enough-To-Actually-Make-A-Difference. | |
